Why MouseTester exists
A mouse can fail in small, frustrating ways. One switch may stop registering, the wheel may skip, a side button may disappear, or a double-click may behave unexpectedly. MouseTester puts a quick first check in the browser so you can see which events arrive before changing drivers or replacing hardware.
The homepage keeps the test area close to the top, then explains how to read each result and where browser limits apply. That makes it useful for everyday troubleshooting without requiring a download, account or special driver.
What the mouse tester checks
MouseTester can observe left, middle and right button presses, and it can report Back and Forward buttons when the browser exposes those events to the page. It also records scroll direction, middle click, horizontal wheel input, pointer movement, dragging and browser-visible double-click timing.
The event log and counters are designed to make intermittent behavior easier to spot. A Detected result means the browser received the event; it does not claim that the internal switch, sensor or cable is healthy in every application.
Local browser testing
The basic test runs in your browser. The page reads the mouse events delivered to the current tab and updates the result panel locally, so you do not need to upload a file or install desktop software to perform the ordinary test workflow.
The site may still use normal hosting, analytics, security and advertising technologies described in the Privacy Policy. Local event handling is a focused product behavior, not a promise that no network request can ever occur while you browse the site.
Who uses MouseTester
People use the mouse tester when a new peripheral arrives, a gaming mouse feels inconsistent, a replacement mouse needs a quick check, or a browser and operating-system setup may be swallowing input. It is also useful for checking a mouse before troubleshooting a game, remote desktop session or creative application.
MouseTester is intentionally focused. It is not a hardware oscilloscope, a manufacturer driver utility, a certified polling-rate analyzer or a replacement for testing the device in the application where the problem occurs.
